SYU Review by @ShowinmadLov

This was the hardest project to make because it was my first album. I always found it easy to throw together 15 or so tracks and slap together mixtapes. Not to say that I didn't put effort into those but none of my mixtapes were all original tracks. This was my first project ever not to use one industry beat. I sat on this album for a year before I released it. I wanted to make sure I wasn't putting out a bunch of of boring music. It's a good thing, because if I had stuck with the original 14 tracks I wanted, it would've hurt SYU. I guess it comes down to that I don't want to suck.

I said this is the hardest record I ever had to make on “AJOGP&R;” because that song went through at least three versions and I don't know how many takes. Brutal.

I think placing “Independent Headspace” after “Legacy” was important. While only 2 songs apart, I wanted to show that I've come to terms with never being famous and doing my music for the enjoyment it gives me. All the music I've created during the volume 4/SYU process was done from a place of making music because I love doing it. I think how well everything turned out shows it as well.

And another vote for “Rewind” and “'Fit Jammin'”! Love it. I'm actually trying to gauge people's favorite songs so I can submit them to some radio stations and club DJs, so this is helpful as well.

I really appreciate you taking the time to listen Marcus, it means a lot to me bro!
